More than 85% of its programs are locally produced. Sharjah TV is also a regular participant in Cairo TV and Radio Festivals and has it won many awards for its content.

Improving the workflow

Sharjah TV workflow environment is based on AVID editing and MAM technology. Previously the broadcaster was manually exporting AVID sequences into the web directly through the editor. But this workflow meant that more time was spent on non-creative tasks and created a greater exposure to errors. In addition, during these periods, the Avid editor was confined to export tasks rather than its main purpose: editing!

When Sharjah TV installed A MOG mxfSPEEDRAIL, it greatly improved the network’s workflow while helping to reduce human errors that can result from manual processes.

In order to maximize its digital delivery efficiency, Sharjah TV installed a MOG mxfSPEEDRAIL O1000. This solution enables the direct export of the AVID sequences into the Sharjah TV online platform in a web video format.

Simplified Avid and MOG mxfSPEEDRAIL workflow developed for Sharjah Television.

This includes products and designs for professionals within the audio/video, media and broadcast industries, as well as turnkey systems from design to installation and consultation.

Resulting benefits

The MOG mxfSPEEDRAIL interfaces Sharjah TV and AVID Interplay environments with the network’s web platform enabling the automated background export of simultaneous AVID sequences as MP4/H264 files.

The new and integrated system provides many benefits to Sharjah TV including faster production. Other advantages include:

  • Easy integration with direct export of AVID sequences to the web
  • Automated workflow, works in the background
  • System provides an intuitive interface, easy to learn
  • Reduced costs and great interoperability
