Kaltura customers will be going live with cloud DVR services in months.
New York’s privately owned online video technology provider Kaltura has launched Kaltura MediaX which includes a flexible cloud DVR. Kaltura customers will be going live with cloud DVR services over the next few months.
Part of its OTT TV offering, MediaX is designed to enable pay-TV operators, content providers and broadcasters to quickly launch advanced cloud DVR services with the industry’s broadest selection of monetization features. In addition to the cloud DVR solution, Kalturn MediaX will also provide customers with innovative tools for content discovery and accessibility.

With the addition of MediaX to our OTT TV platform, both new and existing customers can benefit from Kaltura’s flexibility and superior video experience, while optimizing data accessibility and usage."
Kaltura’s cloud DVR solution is designed to help customers increase business opportunities with innovative monetization features. Revenue generating options include allowing subscribers to increase their cloud DVR quota; add new users or devices per household; upgrade from catch-up to cloud DVR; connect recordings to existing social media features; the long-term storage of catch-up items and recordings and many others.
“When existing Kaltura customers deploy the cloud DVR solution, they can extend their OTT TV personalization features, content discovery, monetization rules and household management logic across the cloud DVR service,” say the company.
As part of the MediaX roadmap, Kaltura will launch other enhancements including metadata enrichment for content discovery which will provide access to a wide variety of traditional and internet-based data sources; and MediaX Predictive Analytics will analyze viewing usage patterns to anticipate user preferences and make content more discoverable.
