Blueshape BV100HD Splash battery
Blueshape, the Italian manufacturer of broadcast batteries, will showcase its new Splash line of waterproof batteries at IBC.
Incorporating the same features of its flagship Granite batteries, the Blueshape Splash line achieves an IP65 rating — meaning the battery resists water ingress from rain, splashes and water jets.
While the BV100HD Splash battery is one of the most powerful V-Mount batteries available on the market today, its construction makes it ideal to power battery-operated light panels and to endure tough outdoor shooting conditions. The battery is capable of operating continuously in discharge at up to 2A (approx.175W).
The battery’s lithium ion cells are secured inside the pack in a carefully designed and reinforced modular cage. All the metal interconnections and the electronic BMS board are integrated with the cells making a single core. No wiring is used. The metal, cell-to-cell tabs have been thickened using lower resistance alloy for improved welding strength and superior electrical conductivity.
The external V-Bracket is screwed to the inner core through the bottom case, by means of a reinforcement metal plate. The outer battery pack shells wrap the inner core and clamp it with eight perimeter screws. A colored rubber gasket is sandwiched in the middle between the outer shells to improve water resistivity.
The outer shells are made of 4mm thick automative grade plastic resin featuring superb toughness and impact resistance even at low temperatures. The battery system as a whole will benefit from this robustness because of the reduced risk of internal disconnection or malfunction caused by unexpected crashes thus extending the overall pack life expectancy.
Featuring a five LED precise gauge for accurate capacity display integrated with state-of-the-art battery safety, balancing and monitoring technology and also providing digital communication with enabled devices. The D-taps have been omitted to enhance the water-resistant quality.
A recent addition is the contact cover on every V-mount battery that comes out of our production as the ultimate protection against short circuit of the contacts. This cover does exactly what it says and makes it virtually impossible for a short between the terminals to occur during transport.
