Intelsat Powers 4K Multimedia Platform With Newtec Dialog Platform

Intelsat is using Newtec’s Dialog multiservice platform to power its IntelsatOne Prism multimedia services.

Intelsat is using satellite communications technology developer Newtec’s Dialog multiservice platform to power its new IntelsatOne Prism multimedia services.

During the NAB Show, April 13-16, Intelsat demonstrated its new multimedia networking platform in 4K UHDTV. The IntelsatOne Prism service allows users to upgrade a legacy satellite-based network to a next-generation automated hybrid satellite and terrestrial converged IP network.

Both companies demonstrated the 4K distribution and contribution capabilities of IntelsatOne Prism.

By embedding the Newtec Dialog platform at the core of IntelsatOne Prism, the new services also combine both the open DVB-S2X transmission standard and Mx-DMA technology.
