Imagine teams with HP in the cloud
Imagine Communications has partnered with HP to help media and entertainment companies implement private, virtual video delivery infrastructures in the cloud. The relationship includes a proof of concept that uses Imagine’s software-based solutions and HP’s global scale and power in hardware, storage and managed private cloud solutions.

Imagine and HP launch cloud-based video delivery platform
The proof of concept will use Imagine's VersioCloud, an IP-enabled channel playout platform that includes automation, branding, graphics, file server and automated playout capabilities. With Versio offered on the HP Helion managed virtual private cloud, media companies can create new channels and make their content available for linear distribution and multiscreen environments.
“Broadcasters are increasingly challenged to compete for viewers and advertising dollars, and they need comprehensive solutions that enable to them to readily create new channels and scale across new markets,” said Charlie Vogt, chief executive officer, Imagine Communications. “This relationship with HP is evidence of the strength in our cloud-based products and the ability to offer them in flexible and secure environments, offering our customers high value, end-to-end capabilities on their choice of operational infrastructure – whether on-premises, private cloud, public cloud, or hybrid cloud.”
In addition, Imagine Communications is aligning its software-based products with HP servers and storage technologies.
“Media and entertainment companies face many challenges as they navigate a new age of IP, software-defined networks and cloud-based infrastructures,” said Robert Vrij, svp HP Enterprise Group, and managing director, HP Americas. “By matching the core strengths of HP with Imagine Communications’ cloud-ready solutions, customers now have cutting edge options for transitioning their own data or broadcast centers to more efficient and scalable private clouds.”
Imagine Communications is at NAB booth N2702.
