Interra Systems Enhances ORION With Stream Recording And Integration With BATON Media Player

Interra Systems, a leading provider of end-to-end quality assurance solutions for the digital media industry, has announced a significant enhancement to its flagship real-time monitoring platform, ORION, with the introduction of stream recording support as well as seamless integration with BATON Media Player (BMP). This powerful combination enables broadcast engineering and operations teams to perform deep, frame-by-frame debugging of monitored streams with unprecedented ease and precision.

The newly introduced recording feature in ORION allows users to capture segments of monitored streams, particularly around error events. Each recording includes a buffer of 5–6 seconds before the error occurs and continues until the issue is resolved or for a user-defined duration. Recordings can also be triggered manually, scheduled, or initiated during ad transitions, offering flexible options for capturing critical stream data.

The integration of Interra Systems’ ORION with BMP empowers media professionals to troubleshoot video delivery issues faster and more effectively. With this integration, users can seamlessly move from real-time monitoring in ORION to frame-accurate playback and deep inspection in BMP, enabling quick root-cause analysis of errors and quality anomalies. The combined workflow accelerates issue identification, reduces manual effort, and ensures that content meets compliance and quality standards before distribution.

By bridging monitoring and detailed analysis, the ORION–BMP integration delivers significant operational efficiency and confidence in delivering superior video experiences. From within the ORION interface, users can launch BMP with a single click to analyze recorded streams in detail. Errors detected during the recording window are automatically displayed in BMP, allowing users to jump directly to the relevant timestamps and perform frame-by-frame analysis. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for manual exports and external tools, significantly reducing the time and effort required to identify and resolve issues.

ORION-OTT, Interra’s monitoring solution for OTT workflows, already includes BMP integration for debugging VOD assets. Recording support for Live streams in ORION-OTT is planned for a future release.
