Caton Technology To Show Comprehensive IP Connectivity Solutions At IBC 2022

Caton Technology is using IBC 2022 to demonstrate how its innovative and accessible technologies help users unleash the full benefits of IP connectivity. It will show solutions based around its uniquely powerful transmission protocols and distribution platforms.

Central to the proposition are the Caton Transport Protocols (CTP), a suite of IP transmission technologies developed to guarantee stability, quality and security even in challenging network conditions. CTP includes more than 30 algorithms and deep learning mechanisms to provide extremely high resilience, including a very powerful forward error correction approach.

The CatonNet Video Platform (CVP) wraps CTP up in a fully managed IP network for real-time transport of high-quality video over any distance locally, regionally and globally. The ultra-low-latency, high-security service is equally suited to occasional use and permanent circuits.

One of the most powerful applications of CVP is in conjunction with Caton Publisher, a comprehensive platform for remote production. This supports anything from live streaming from a mobile phone to professional multi-site remote production with switching in the cloud as well as delivery to all platforms.

New in Caton Publisher is the ability to provide talkback to and from the production base to each contribution point, bringing multiple contributors and publishers into a single professional workflow. The realtime audio communication tunnels are fully encrypted for security. Like the rest of CVP, clients are available for iOS and Android.

CTP also powers Caton NDI Gateway, a software application which extends the popular NDI networking format beyond the single-site LAN, allowing it to be used across any distance, over typical internet connections, in remote production workflows.
