Globo Chooses GV AMPP For Live Sports And Entertainment Productions

Brazilian Mediatech Company Globo has selected Grass Valley’s GV AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform) to produce and stream over 50 live sports and entertainment events. In 2022, Globo expects to produce over 200 live sports, entertainment and news events using GV AMPP.
AMPP is the first cloud-based SaaS platform for producing live sports, entertainment, and news workflows, helping customers easily transition to public or private cloud-based workflows or hybrid infrastructures.
During the past two years, Globo evaluated vendors and cloud solutions available on the market and AMPP was selected as the broadcaster’s core cloud-based workflow production platform. “Our goal is to optimize Globo’s technology infrastructure and generate new business opportunities through a scalable platform,” commented Mauricio Felix, Infrastructure and Security Director, Globo. “It has been a journey of learning and collaboration between Globo and Grass Valley to reach the right maturity of the platform, operating model and business model for our live production events.”
GV AMPP has been developed specifically to free up media companies from relying on hardware-based media systems and accelerate their move to the cloud. This revolutionary platform empowers users with unprecedented flexibility to spin up or spin down applications as needed and only pay for the services they use — even in live production environments where timing and low latency are essential.
AMPP is central to the GV Media Universe concept, a comprehensive ecosystem of cloud-based tools, services and partners that revolutionizes how live media is produced. GV AMPP delivers cloud native and cloud-agnostic support for the processing of video/audio in a variety of cloud-centric ways — public cloud; private, on-premise data center, or in hybrid topologies — giving customers a simple way to unlock flexible, distributed production workflows, easily and rapidly scaling cost and features up or down as needed.
"Working with Globo has been beneficial for both companies," says, Fernando David, sales Director for Brazil, Grass Valley. "AMPP has simplified Globo's workflows, created cost efficiencies and provided the customer more flexibility to expand their service offering. In turn, Globo provided invaluable feedback that has strengthened the platform and ensured that it was ready for large-scale live production applications."
