Apantac cards now include 12G support for UHD.
Apantac says it’s the first openGear partner to introduce HDMI and HDMI 2.0 products in the openGear platform. It has also added two new cards to its line of openGear Distribution Amplifiers.
Apantac's OG-HDM2.0-1x4 and OG-HDM2.0-1x8 allows high quality HDMI 2.0 signals to be transmitted or distributed to four or eight displays – all without any signal degradation. It supports up to 4K / UHD 24/25/30/50/60Hz and HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2/HDCP 1.4.
They also support LPCM, Dolby HD and Dolby Digital audio. These cards can be easily cascaded for expanding inputs and outputs up to eight levels. Also included is the patent pending intelligent EDID management technology (iDOT) with a built-in intelligent down scaling, chroma re-sampler and color space conversion based on the EDID from the displays.
The OG-DA-8-UHD and OG-DA-4-UHD now include 12G support for UHD applications. The models include 1x4 and 1x8 distribution amplifiers for auto-detected 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI signals and are designed specifically for the OGX/3.0 card-based openGear platform.
These designs split one 12G signal into four or eight and are useful in almost any broadcast or professional AV environment where clean signal splitting is required over long cable runs. Cable reach is up to 70 meters for 12G, up to 100 meters for 6G and up to 140 meters for 3G signals.
Apantac’s latest Universal Scaler for the openGear Platform; the OG-US-5000, is a UHD bi-directional Universal Scan Converter/Scaler that has a built-in loop-out of SDI or HDMI, with genlock. It supports both HDMI 2.0 and 12G SDI inputs and outputs.
This card scales any SDI and/or HDMI input resolution to HDMI and SDI with support up to UHD. For example: Broadcast and Professional AV facilities can use this card to distribute HDMI 2.0 UHD signals around the facility by converting them to 12G SDI, genlocked with the rest of the system, while still monitoring the original HDMI 2.0 source.
