EVS has acquired media network infrastructure specialist Axon Digital Design in a deal worth EUR 10.5 million ($11,646,805.00US) in cash and debt. Once completed, EVS will strategically expand its global footprint and gains new sales channel partners.
This acquisition, the largest in EVS’ history, positions EVS as provider of a comprehensive modern media infrastructure solution that includes IP processing, SDI/IP conversion, SDN-based control and monitoring, as well as a UHD-4K and IP multiviewer.
The agreement could provide end-to-end scalable and redundant solutions like pairing EVS’ Score Master SDN IP orchestrator, with Axon's Cerebrum control and monitoring system, Neuron IP stream processing platform and the Synapse modular infrastructure platform to support customers globally.
With development centers in the Netherlands and the UK, and more than 80 team members, Axon owns mobile trucks and data centers, and a product portfolio that complements EVS’ existing live production offering. The company generated EUR 17.5 million in revenue last year.

Earlier this year EVS announced a new companywide initiative called PLAYForward that spotlights a broad offering of modular and flexible IP infrastructure. Integrating Axon’s products will allow EVS to offer customers an extensive live production infrastructure, enabling optimized resource management, greater scalability and faster deployment across multiple sites for remote live operations.
It will also enable EVS customers to implement turnkey solutions to smoothly migrate their infrastructure towards IP and remote production-based workflows.
The Axon brand will be absorbed into EVS over the coming weeks and its product portfolio will be integrated into EVS’ portfolio. The stated objective is to integrate Axon team members and further invest in its technology.
