BBright Supports Dolby Vision And Atmos With HEVC Decoder

UHD-Decode is a HEVC and AVC software-based decoder for contribution and monitoring and claimed as the first to feature decoding support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Audio in a single product.

BBright, the French specialists in advanced media processing and technologies, worked with Dolby Labs to develop the decoder embedding Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Audio support over HDMI.

The UHD-Decode supports Dolby AC-4 pass-through and (in the coming next release) Dolby E & ED2 pass-through in order to add more customer’s use-case versatility. Supported baseband outputs are quad-3G SDI, 12G SDI as well as HDMI 2.0b with future uncompressed baseband over IP (i.e., SMPTE-2110) output on the roadmap for later this year.

"QC and monitoring are a critical part of a live production workflow that ensures viewers are enjoying a best-in-class experience,” said Jean-Christophe Morizur, Senior Director, Pro Products and Solutions, Dolby. “BBright’s integration of Dolby technologies into its latest decoding platform is a critical milestone on our journey to scale the delivery of next-generation immersive entertainment.”

“Various sports events around the globe will benefit from these new HDR and audio object technologies for a better overall experience either in Full-HD 1080p or with genuine Ultra HD resolution. With all our latest improvements, our UHD-Decode solution is now offering a unique set of features way above the competition,” said Guillaume Arthuis, BBright president.
