Artel Video Enhances Quarra For Live

Artel Video Systems is promoting improvements to its Quarra series of PTP Ethernet switches for live performance venues.

Artel IP switches offer accurate IEEE 1588-compliant timing and synchronization, Artel's Quarra family is now quieter than ever, said Rafael Fonseca, VP of Product Management, Artel. "Thanks to adjustments to both software and hardware, Quarra switches minimize power and noise associated with ensuring adequate cooling at all times."

As the broadcast industry continues to migrate toward all-IP networks, devices in the Quarra range enable the precise timing and synchronization that drive signal delivery from acquisition to consumer, he added.

These IP switches now feature quieter fans as well as new software-based controls that vary fan speed based on temperature for less overall noise. They support SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2059-2, permitting interoperable use of IP-based media equipment with conventional genlocked SDI equipment. The switches are RAVENNA AES67-approved and Dante- and QSC-tested.
