OPTV Extends Private Cloud Storage With MatrixStore

Object Matrix works with France’s Orange Prestations TV (OPTV) to further extend its private cloud storage platform using MatrixStore.

Faced with an ever-increasing media library, OPTV began an evaluation process to determine the best way of managing that growth. With two MatrixStore object storage clusters already in place, OPTV was keen to determine whether it should extend and optimise that existing storage, move to a cloud workflow, or look to externalise management of the archive.

Olivier le Galloudec, Managing Director, OPTV, commented: “Maximising the value of our archive means having the right technology and services in place. However, equally important is the strong team of expert advisors, which we get thanks to the combination of Object Matrix, IVORY, and CTM Solutions. As we were already using MatrixStore and that expert support team, we knew it would be the right combination to optimize and to grow our archive.”

OPTV had complex MAM and API driven workflows, a need for high levels of content security and ensuring future proof access to its archive. It has extended one of its existing MatrixStore object storage clusters by one petabyte and added a third MatrixStore cluster to its setup taking the overall footprint to in excess of 5.5 petabytes.

By increasing its existing MatrixStore storage, it can continue to scale without needing to change its infrastructure or workflows. Ultimately the investment now will save OPTV time and money and help it continue to monetise its archive.”

Object Matrix is represented in France by Ivory and the implementation was managed by CTM Solutions.
