iSize Make IBC Debut With Grand Claims For AI-driven Encoder

​iSize Technologies, a London-based developer, makes its IBC debut with the launch of BitSave, described as a fully AI-powered encoding platform. It is claimed to enable up to 70 percent bitrate saving versus non-AI competing codec solutions.

The company claims to have extensively tested its patent-pending AI features that are further claimed to make encoding up to 500 percent faster than competing cloud encoding solutions.

The AI tech behind BitSave is said to be fully codec independent and will increase the efficiency and performance of codec standards including AVC/H.264, HEVC/H.265, and VP9. 

“BitSave resolves high bitrate quality issues by providing the capacity, performance and know-how to cost-effectively deliver a high-quality experience for both VOD and live streaming customers,” said iSize Technologies CEO Sergio Grce in a statement.

To showcase the impact of BitSave in fast and low-cost content delivery under challenging transport conditions, iSize Technologies has partnered with CosmoCDN, a CDN provider currently piloting in several regions of Africa.

iSize is also piloting and testing BitSave with companies doing VOD, streaming and broadcasting as well as those in hardware, e-learning, and defence. Grce said iSize is addressing the individual requirements of each of those companies by deploying the BitSave encoding platform to save on bandwidth and reduce bitrate ladders to optimise and improve the visual quality, or reduce streaming or data transfer interference.

BitSave further claims it is faster than competing solutions while requiring less processing power - savings which translate to significantly less datacentre power if deployed at scale.

iSize has been selected to present a paper at IBC as part of the ‘Tech Talk: AI - more ways it will revolutionise our industry’ – entitled Deep-learning Based Precoding Techniques for Next-Generation Video Compression – on Tuesday 17 September at 09.00 in the Forum.
