Monitoring QoE at the Edge

New Cloud-enabled platform can monitor availability, performance and integrity of services from the edge of distribution.

Witbe recently launched its new Cloud monitoring platform on real test devices deployed globally. The launch enables Witbe customers to measure the Quality of Experience (QoE) of all their digital services including video, voice, and internet on real devices such as set-top box, smartphone, PC, tablet, or OTT box. Tests are performed in more than 150 locations around the world through real operator’s fiber, cable, 3G/4G, and satellite network accesses.

Witbe relies on a non-intrusive technology, based on robots measuring the quality truly delivered. The Witbe robots are placed at the edge of distribution and connected to test devices identical to those used by real users. The robots measure QoE as delivered to end-users by providing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on the availability, performance and integrity of the service. Thousands of Witbe robots are already deployed on customers’ own infrastructures.

Two years after the launch of Galilei, Witbe’s reference network for OTT video stream monitoring in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) mode, Witbe is expanding its Cloud offering by allowing operators and broadcasters to benefit from Witbe robots already deployed in the Cloud, outside of their infrastructures. This decreases costs and deployment time, allowing them to focus on improving the quality of their services.
