Prime Focus Technologies Advances DAX Production Cloud Platform

Prime Focus Technologies showcased new updates to its DAX Production Cloud services at the recent Media Production Show 2019 in London. The specialized software empowers Media & Entertainment (M&E) enterprises with secure workflows for collaborating and sharing content.

DAX Production Cloud, from Prime Focus Technologies, has a new Asset Share feature that streamlines collaboration and distribution of assets for every department—from on-set production and post to marketing, and everything in between. Asset Share allows content creators to create, view and distribute content with efficiency and speed. It also enables users to collaborate seamlessly and share sensitive content with both DAX and non-DAX users in a fast, simple and secure manner—through links that automatically expire when desired. This will remove major barriers experienced by core creatives, many of who are not named users on the asset management system.

Based on the patented “DAX with Digital Dailies” technology, DAX Production Cloud provides a single interface for all those involved in the production supply chain. It serves as a singular repository for all media and ancillary files, and offers a robust player and online NLE, along with powerful tools to share, collaborate and manage production. These tools include on-set dailies, post production cuts, editorial, VFX (pull downs), marketing (trailers), localization and distribution (screeners). The software supports workflows for all variants of both scripted and unscripted content.

Other upgrades include: an Administration tool that gives users more control; basic and custom folder structures; watermarking variation; and email/notification settings. In addition, the software’s Virtual Playlist Editor delivers a cloud-based NLE that can be used to create custom playlists for all teams (including compiling selects, circle takes, promo/marketing clips and sizzle reels).

The updated version of DAX Production Cloud is also available via mobile app— Android and iOS—with an offline option to download videos and watch later. This allows users to access and review content anytime, anywhere. In addition, content creators can leverage the software’s Secure Screeners tool for sending out press, sales and award screeners to large groups of reviewers with total security.
