The installation of Viz Story at Seven News was part of a larger digital campaign to publish more content online than terrestrial.
Seven News, the news division of Seven West Media, one of Australia’s leading integrated media companies, has installed visual storytelling software from Vizrt in all of Seven West Media’s hubs in the country’s major cities to quickly create branded content and publish it simultaneously across multiple online platforms.
Andrew Anderson, Head of Operations at Seven West Media said Viz Story was deployed to help its journalists, producers and production teams create content for Seven News’ newly launched 7news.com.au website.
“We use Viz Story to quickly publish branded video to the site,” he said. “We will soon use more of the Viz Story capabilities to publish direct to multiple platforms such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.”
Seven West Media hubs Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Maroochydore and Brisbane have now all included Viz Story into their workflows. These installations also include live ingest capture with the capability to edit content during the ingest process with growing file and clip up capabilities, ensuring fast turn-around of broadcast news segments.

During a recent breaking news event in Christchurch, New Zealand they published 30 videos a day from Sydney alone.
Mat Cooley, Head of Viz Design Group at Seven West Media said that Viz Story allows his teams across their seven different Australian locations to use Viz Artist for regular studio content as well as Internet content.
“Viz Story also gives digital video producers all the tools they need to make the creative process seamless; using templates made by our Viz Artist team gives us control over 7News.com.au branding,” he said.
