CrewCom Updates From Pliant Technologies for NAB New York
Pliant Technologies will bring the latest upgrades for its CrewCom wireless intercom to the NAB New York show. Version 1.2 was also seen at IBC and includes new firmware providing a range of features to improve system configuration, RF range and audio quality.
As well as the v1.2 updates, Pliant Technologies has also added the Fibre Hub to CrewCom, which it says is a more efficient way of installing and utilising the system. The Hub offers up to eight fibre connections on standard SFP single mode ports, plus a single RJ-45 copper port for interfacing with circuits using Pliant's proprietary CrewNet networking technology. This provides signal transport and coordination, with connectivity over CAT5e (and above) cables or single mode fibre.
CrewCom is a de-centralised network intercom that does not run on a matrix. During NAB NY it will be shown alongside its dedicated graphical user interface. CrewWare is software-based and allows for the intercom to be configured offline, while providing control and monitoring when working online.
The new SmartBoom LITE headset now features upgraded audio quality and will also be shown alongside CrewCom.
