Interra Systems to Demonstrate AI and ML at NAB NY

Interra Systems will demonstrate the capabilities of new artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies added to its BATON QC platform at NAB NY.

Interra Systems will highlight BATON WINNOW, which expands the company’s globally deployed BATON QC platform with an AI/ML-based feature set for content classification and compliance. WINNOW seamlessly integrates with BATON and can be deployed in both cloud and on-premises solutions.

Based on powerful content categorization algorithms, BATON WINNOW classifies audiovisual content based on specified criteria, such as explicit scenes, violence, profane language, and more. It relies on user-defined rule sets to automatically check compliance and identification of content against regulations in different countries, regions, and organizations.

“WINNOW is powered by AI/ML algorithms implemented using widely adopted TensorFlow framework and state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms. With these enhancements, BATON’s feature-rich toolset goes on to save significant time and money for broadcasters.” said Sanjay Mittal, Interra Systems VP of Engineering.

Three solutions will also be demonstrated in the Interra Systems exhibits. For content preparation and ingest, BATON is a M/L and AI enabled hybrid QC platform that provides comprehensive quality and compliance checks for VOD content, in the cloud or on-premises, for linear and streaming workflows.

ORION-OTT is a solution for monitoring live services and VOD assets, in the cloud or on-premises. Together with BATON, it offers a high performance, scalable solution to verify ABR videos for monitoring both QoS and QoE. ORION provides real-time monitoring of IP-based infrastructures that looks at all aspects of video streams such as QoS, QoE, closed captions, ad-insertion verification, reporting and troubleshooting.

For media analysis, VEGA is a trusted platform for stream analysis and interoperability testing. VEGA supports all popular video compression and container standards such as AV1, H.264, HEVC, JPEG-2K, MPEG-2 TS, WebM, VP9, Dolby Audio, ALS Audio, MPEG-DASH, Apple HLS, ISM, and includes features such as video comparison and quality checks.

Interra Systems solutions are easy to deploy and expand using standard IT hardware with Windows. The solutions provide enterprise-wide centralized monitoring of IP packets, Transport streams, closed captions, audio/video quality, and ad insertion with SCTE-35 triggers.
