ITV has increased its use of Vantage to handle its ever-growing transcoding requirements.
Looking to streamline the process of transcoding large amounts of file-based content, ITV London has increased its use of the software-enabled Vantage Media Processing Platform from Telestream.
Telestream's Vantage is based on a service-oriented architecture and is made up of discrete tasks and connectors that combine to create scalable automated workflows, all under a unified software control system. Vantage services include transcoding, media capture, metadata processing, media analysis, and content assembly. Vantage connectors enable seamless, API-level integration with third-party systems.
Jayson Chase, Commercial Director at Boxer said that many broadcasters need to transcode increasingly larger amounts of data.
“For example, transcoding DPP compliant files to ProRes for international customers could only be done more-or-less in real time,” he said. “Moreover, such time-consuming work was anticipated to increase, so [ITV] needed a system that could handle far more data, faster.”
Sonny Hanley, ITV Head of Content Operations and Delivery said they’ve worked with Vantage for a number of years so when they wanted to look at increasing their transcoding capability they again chose the Telestream Vantage system because “we've seen a positive impact on our content delivery workflows.”
The Telestream Vantage Platform was installed at ITV’s London headquarters by systems integrator Boxer Systems, a Telestream channel partner that worked closely with ITV to specify and configure the system.
