​DigitalGlue Introduces New Media Storage Platform

The //DEUS EX – which we shall be calling the Deus Ex because it is simpler to read, write and say – is part of DigitalGlue’s creative.space platform and is a hybrid NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) SSD and HDD media storage solution.

The system is sold as part of the firm’s On-Premise Managed Storage (OPMS) service that includes 24/7 monitoring, technical support and next-day repairs for an affordable, all-inclusive monthly rate of $1,995 (for 200 TB HDD + 4.8 TB SSD).

Designed for end-to-end post-production workflows, DigitalGlue's Deus Ex is for uncompressed high-resolution workflows and is said to be capable of tackling even the most demanding real-world formats like 4K DCI OpenEXR.

It features dual Intel Gold Processors, “plenty of RAM”, 4 NVMe SSDs, and up to 20 Helium-filled HDDs (24 without SSDs). Post producers can employ it in collaborative workflows like those available in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Cloud to get more done in less time.

The appliance joins previously launched systems including Auteur, designed for small teams working with compressed 4K+ workflows starting with 120TB RAW capacity across 12 drives in a 24-bay 4 RU chassis; and Breathless, developed for scalable high-bandwidth DI, VFX, and OTT workflows with a 36-bay all-flash NVMe) packed into 1U.
