Actus Digital will present new features and improvements in Version 6.4 at IBC 2018, related both to Actus broadcast compliance solution and the clips creation workflow for OTT and social media. The improvements are in almost every area of the platform, from inputs of additional formats, through analysis and visualization of data, to more formats exported.

Version 6.4 of Encoder-Pro was optimized for HD. It includes an optimization in the code and in the consumption of the resources (CPU and RAM), and it has support for H.265, HEVC input. It can also upload feeds from a remote Actus server (decentralized recorder) either via direct virtual LAN connection or via a managed FTP connection, including full automation, retries, reporting, variable bitrates.

An additional Loudness report was created in Version 6.4, which automatically presents the average loudness value for each program separately, such as news, spot ads and promos, based on EPG or AsRun Log timecodes, when available. The module also computes the Loudness average level for the previous 5 days.

Powerful Visualization

Version 6.4 can display several EPGs side by side, and a mix of EPG and AsRun Logs for the same time period. It can add markers automatically from either the EPG timecodes, or from (SCTE) triggers timecodes. The result is a time segment where each program is separated by a marker. It allows automation of the clips creation process.

Within each segment in the player, there is now a button that opens a waveform graphic below the video timeline. This helps identify parts of high audio activity such as speech, especially in radio channels.

It also supports SMPTE 2301 Subtitles. SMPTE 2031 covers Carriage of DVB/SCTE VBI Data in VANC. The report will list all detections of SCTE 35 or 104 signals, with their timecode, message, and comments.
