“Our new mimoLive 4 live video production application for the Apple Mac platform is like having a TV production truck without the truck,” Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software told me during our one-on-one pre-NAB interview. “You can stream to multiple destinations at the same time to most social media platforms.”

NAB 2018 visitors were able to see mimoLive 4 at the NDI Pavilion because they leveraged the Network Device Interface technology developed by NewTek to deliver live streams without special cables.

And since they are using cameras like the NewTek NDI|HX or the PTZOptics live streaming cameras, the 110 Mbs capability of the NDI nodes will give you plenty of bandwidth without extra cables, even getting their power over Ethernet (PoE).

“This makes it easy to add additional video sources,” Breidenbach said, “or you can add external boxes like Thunderbolt 3 devices if you want to add HD-SDI inputs. That makes it really applicable for both the HOW and scholastic markets.”

This is the 21^st release of mimoLive since the company rebranded from BoinxTV in 2016 and that’s not even counting beta releases. But this new release is a milestone since the whole output module has been redesigned for extended usability.

“You don’t have to be a post production specialist to use mimoLive,” Breidenbach said. “This 4th version is intuitive enough for anyone to produce live streaming productions.”
