Founded in Hong Kong in 1999, Yuneec International Co. Ltd. is the world leader in electric aviation.
Yuneec’s two seat electric powered airplane, the E430, features a 48KW electric propulsion system and a carbon fibre composite airframe. Recognising this achievement, Yuneec International was awarded the Lindbergh Electric Aircraft Prize (LEAP) by Erik Lindbergh, the grandson of Charles A. Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh for the aircraft's "significant commercial potential" and "compelling design" launching the two-seater as an airplane that "could make possible practical, sustained electric flight." The E430 was also recognised by the prestigious UK Design Awards for excellence in design.
The E-Spyder, a single seat electric powered aircraft features the innovative PowerDrive 24 propulsion system integrating the Motor, Motor Controller, 75 VOLT Battery, and Charger. The 24KW power plant quietly propels the plane at speeds of 68 miles per hour (59 knots)with flight times up to 1.5 hours received the world’s first type certification for an electric aircraft from Deutschen Ultraleichtflugverbandes (DULV) E.V in 2013.
Yuneec’s core technologies power its manned aircraft as well as its Aerial Photography & Video Systems (APV) and its market leading line of radio controlled aircraft for the hobby market.
With over 1800 employees in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Hamburg, Yuneec International manufactures over 1 million units a year, sold under the Blade, Parkzone, E-Flite, Firebird, Firebird XL and Q500 brands. The Company’s achievements include the introduction of the hobby industry’s first “Ready to Fly” radio control electric powered airplane (Firebird and Firebird XL) and the design and manufacture of the market leading Blade radio controlled helicopters and micro-copters.
Recent innovations include the design of the world’s first Smart Transmitter (the “ST24 Ground Station”) that combines a 2.4GHz radio control transmitter with a 5.8GHz Digital video link and an Android operating system. In 2014, Yuneec introduced the Q500 and H920 aerial photography and videography systems that feature an integrated 1080p camera (60 FPS) with a 3 Axis gimbal and 5.8GHz long distance real-time digital video link.
With over 50 patents filed since 1989, Yuneec International continues to change the way we fly.
